This indulgent treat layers cornflakes, soy milk soft serve, strawberry compote, and strawberry white chocolate drizzle. The soy milk soft serve is lightly sweetened, creamy, and has a delicate, beany flavour that pairs beautifully with the sweet-tart intensity of the chunky strawberry compote. We thoroughly enjoyed the ¥3000(with pork) tofu lunch course, especially sesame tofu and yudofu. It was a truly delightful culinary experience. There was non-Japanese speaking tourists at the next table who seemed a bit puzzled by the rice-in-hot-pot concept. Maybe restaurants benefit from having an English menu that explains the concept. Outside the restaurant there is Ashiyu foot bath customers can enjoy for free while waiting for your table or while eating delicious takeaway tofu icecreams

I had a delicious iced matcha latte with soy cream and a tofu dessert. Nice vegan options. The man serving was very friendly and chatty. The foot bath was perfect!

A modern designed restaurant across the street of Romon, a hot spring area of Takeo. We arrived at 11am, not a busy time but we luckily got the last table. They offer two courses, 3000/3500yen. Food was very delicious, with 3 small bites of tofu as appetizer - sesame, peanuts and a seasonal one. When the tofu in the pot got melted it’s time for hot pot. They serve Saga pork and veggies. Finally you can add either rice or noodles into the soup base as congee or pasta… super yummy! Course ended with a sesame dessert with red bean and soy cream.

This was truly one of my most memorable vegan dining experiences. A perfect harmony of modern Japanese aesthetics and traditional onsen tofu cuisine. The ritual of preparing and savoring the tofu transforms a simple meal into a serene, almost spiritual experience. A hidden gem not to be missed when visiting the area.

This tofu specialist is amazingly delicious. First came here for the tofu parfait with Kinako powder and brown sugar. It was beautiful. The next day came back for their tofu meal set. Every single dish from appetiser to dessert was impeccable and completed the meal with ureshino tea. Staff are friendly and patient to explain how to enjoy the meal. Thank you!
